She was born in Almiros, Magnesia, Greece.
She graduated from the Supreme Industrial School of Thessaloniki and Pedagogical Department of Pre-school Education of the University of Thessaloniki.
She attended painting lessons by the painter Paleologos Theologou and the Russian painter Diana Borisova.
She is a member of the Visual Artists Association of Central Greece. At times she has received favourable critiques from art critics.
The prologue for her latest work, exhibited at the "Spirer Hall of Art" of Volos, was written by the historian of art, substitute Professor at the University of Thessaly Dimitris Deligiannis, who wrote among other things:
" The originality and the vividness of this work is located in the specific way (personal style) in which the painter processes her subjects.
The object is enlarged, obtains new dimensions and is expressed, not silently, as a depiction of the perceivable, or more simply as an aesthetics of vision.
Sofia Fotiadis is distinguished for the experienced design, the big power of designing and synthetic representation and the colour, which she knows how to handle with an explosive polyphonic expression".
