The Visual Artists Association of Central Greece (V.A.A.C.G.),
will run an exhibition of its members,
at the Cultural Center " Melina" of Athens Municipality,
Irakleidon 66 & Thessalonikis at Thiseio,
by the title: "s p e i r a"
41 artists of central Greece will participate
with more than 100 works, painting, sculpture, mosaic and more.
Parallel exhibition: " about the shoe":
An artistic twist on the traditional shoe of the region of Roumeli (tsarouhi).
The traditional shoes that will be exhibited have been done by artists - members of V.A.A.C.G.,
aiming to support the association's proposal about the creation
of the monument of the great painter Alekos Kontopoulos in Lamia.

| The Art workshops of Municipality of
Lamia will participate in the Carnival of Lamia 2005 with a group
of the students of the children's classes. The educational thyme which will be embodied and presented in the carnival by the students and teachers will be: "The dress of Art". Aim of the event is: • To understand that a work of art is subject to constant criticism and discussion. • To interfere in the work of art by creating circumstances of motion and three dimensions. • To be able to enlarge and reproduce an image. • To get familiar with possibilities of "poor" materials like cardboard and paper. • To promote teamwork and to realize that the ideas of many people bring better results. • To live a different experience "waring" their work, participating by this way to the event of the carnival. |

— NEW YEARS PIE CUTTING — HONORARY EVENT On Friday January 28, 2005 at 21.00, the Association of Visual Artists of Central Greece, is organizing an event at club «VOREIO» in Lamia. The event includes the annual New Years pie cutting, music, food, surprises and lottery contest with works of art, offered to the event by the artists of VAACG, in order to support the causes of the association. During the event, the association after all members vote, will honour people and organizations that supported and promote the fine art and cultural work of VAACG. The association is requesting all members and friends, to honour with their presence this special event, which promises a trip of tastes, fragrances and colours of enjoyment and fun.
